Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): Days 7 - 9

A few more completed pages for LSNED, starting with the 7th I found out playing classic games on the Wii "Family Game Night 3" - is a little more difficult than the old board style. At least for me!

The next day I was calling around trying to find out who had the latest issue of Flea Market Style magazine in, then ran and picked one up:

Ahhh, so many good ideas!

And on the 9th we went on an Art Walk and found ourselves at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, yummy: Need to get there again for some Caramel Apples - soon!

Back to working on my layout, seems to be going no where fast. Have a good day!

Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): Days 4 - 6

Still playing along with LSNED, keeping notes and taking photos though creating the cards is a whole 'nother thing! Although I am up to Day 10 - woot - I'd thought I'd share a few days at a time.

For the 4th, I hid the journaling behind the photo but wrote how I learned I TRULY am obsessed with Flea Markets when I got up at 4:30AM to get ready to go to one.

On Monday, I got a little blue when I came across some old photos of Sierra & Savannah. Miss them both so much.

And the next day was about being crafty with some spray paint:Taking a bit of a break from this and working on Ella Publishing Boot Camp projects this week: Hope you had a good weekend! I had fun "treasure hunting" and will share some of the Flea Market finds soon.

Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): Days 1 - 3

Caught up on some cards for LSNED last night, really love this class and have been enjoying seeing everyone's lessons!

For my first day I had received a free Redbox code and since we also watch movies through Netflix decided to rent one we hadn't planned on watching - and then ended up really liking it.
For the 2nd I realized not having nightowl hours isn't too horrible. hehe
And on the 3rd - after two days of messing around in PSE trying to create a page of date circles for this project I remembered how many hours can be spent on the computer when it should have just taken a few minutes. (Or you have a box checked you shouldn't! Geesh!)

Other than that, had a nice weekend both weather-wise (for the most part) and Flea Marketing hunting. Will share some finds this week.

Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): The Cover

Since we create the day after we learn in this class, yesterday was about the cover. I didn't stray too much from last year's style - just flipped it.  Using Lily Bee Picket Fences and plan on keeping the embellishments simple w/ flowers and butterflies.

Hard to believe this weekend marks the end of summer with temps in the 90s today, hoping it cools down for some Flea Marketing on Sunday. I have lots of finds to share soon - I've become consumed this summer and worrying about how I will make it through the long winter without them. For real!

In the meantime, here is a couple of pics of my favorite Flea Market at Holy Hill,  the view and finds were both fantastic:

Trying to catch up on some pages - falling behind as usual. Since I left my notebook with my lessons learned in my Mom's car, I'm doing random pages of what I can remember.

Sadly these few pages are the extent of my creating this weekend. The Husband has been working long hours, so needless to say the kids are keeping me busy.

Since I do so well at my classes <heavy sarcasm> - I decided to jump into another class I seen at my friend April's blog. The class, Cooking Up a Memory is over at Renee Pearson's and is about collecting family recipes & food photography. Looks like a cool class and I'm excited to get started!

Three For Thursday: Randomness 5

First, I think I learned today maybe doing journaling at 3AM isn't the best idea - I thought I put together a sentence. Anyway, my lesson on the 7th was how nice a nap can be - can put a whole new outlook on the day. After a long summer with very few, it's nice to have the option again. lol

Last week was a bit of a blue week. Just missing my older kids who have both left the nest, one just a few weeks ago. I know we have to let go someday, but boy - it sure isn't easy!

And lastly, Team-Up Thursday with our prompt being "small" this week:Akesa's is on the top - a cool close-up of a bottle cap and all I kept thinking was "small as a button" so there ya go on that. :)

Time to put LSNED aside for a few days and get the last touches of my Iron Cupcake Display ready for Monday, including nailing down which flavor cupcake I'm going with.

Speaking of flavors of cupcakes - what is your favorite?

I love a nice Vanilla Bean Cupcake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream lately. Yummy!

Three for Thursday: LSNED

Got to go to Target alone and take my time last weekend & found some cute plates for Cupcake pictures on clearance, among some other things I suddenly had to have.

And now I will end the teasing of my oh so happy Sunday. Growing up we lived in a subdivision behind the High School, this meant that when class got out at 2:20 I could hightail it and be home by 2:30 to catch the last half hour of General Hospital and watch a new character - "Blackie Parrish":

I wish I had a better picture of him, but he is constantly moving on the drums, to the guitar - it was hard to get a nice shot of him - especially from my vantage point. But I could see him nice & up close in my zoom and whoa, he is as every bit as beautiful in person as he is on TV. Always with a smile on his face - he is loving every minute of playing with The Beach Boys. It was his last night as he had to head to the set of Glee - I'm SO excited he will be on this season! 

And last one for the long weekend, I used a picture I had taken earlier in the Summer - something we love to do around here and it seemed perfect for our prompt  which was to focus on something we may have re-learned:

LSNED: Day 3

Friday was a weird day where it was raining, then the sun came out, then back to dark cloudy, etc, etc. While the cloudy picture looks like a black & white photo it's not and was taken just 18 minutes after the blue sky picture. I heard the saying "If you don't like the weather...just wait 5 minutes." a lot growing up and today I learned what that really meant!

And I know not the best picture but I had Fun, Fun, Fun over the weekend and if you know this guy & his band...

then you may know who I was so "gleefully" excited to see. You can see a little bit of his head and red guitar and he's delish! ;)

Any guesses? lol

LSNED: Days 1 & 2

First day was a practice run of Cupcake display. I know the shot has glare - but I was OK with that - don't want to give too much away! Day 2 is about learning there is no $20 quick run in trip to the grocery store these days. Especially when Lofthouse Cookies are on sale! :)

Need to finish up some journaling on Day 3 and then print some pics of the last few days. I SAW someone this weekend that I'm still smiling about now...off to put Day 5 together!

Who is somebody on your "would love to see in real life" list?

LSNED: The Cover....A Do Over

Decided to go back to the drawing board & create a new cover, still the 4x6 size but this time with a new line I got a few weeks ago, Fancy Pants "Wishful Thinking". So cute! While I liked my other cover, I didn't LOVE it and it kept popping into my head, it didn't feel right. This feels much more me and I'm more excited to begin with Day 1 now!

And over at "30DLBL" yesterday, part of our task was to imagine our ideal life. What would we do if resources were unlimited? One dream that dances around is to have a Cupcake Truck. Is there a dream business you would like to own?

And talking about Cupcakes, looking forward to Labor Day Weekend & more ICM test baking along with some grilling and relaxing and trying to hold on to that last bit of summer of course!
