Color Blog Hop: Fall

FallJustANote copy

GratCardWelcome to my stop on the Color Blog Hop! You should have just arrived from Remember This.

I decided to make a few cards this month using scraps and circle punches to pull the colors together. With that and a few old greeting stamps these only took a few minutes to whip up - ALWAYS time to send a hand-made card!

We had 3 options this month and I based my combo on this "seed":

October 1Next stop is Scrap Your Life. Have a COLORful day!

In case you are starting in the middle here is the complete Blog Hop:

Boot Camp: Custom Backgrounds & Extracting Inspiration

SnowDog01 A few more layouts from Boot Camp at Ella Publishing. I ended up completing 8 out of 12 within prize deadline - not too bad. Still plan on going back and doing the other 4.

For this layout, from a sketch at Page Maps, I created the "patterned paper" by using a CTMH Stamp Set "New Fallen Snow" and Distress Inks. A good tip we learned was to cut your paper to size first and work from the corner out. Fun being able to create papers in just the colors you need!

ZachAng02 For the Extracting Inspiration drill we were to look through magazines and create a layout inspired by one of the pages. I chose this Martha Stewart/Macy's ad:

MacyMarthaAd Taking a break from Boot Camp to create this month's 9 picture layout from Shimelle's free 4x6 Photo Love class.

Have you been playing along?

Boot Camp: Basic Photo Editing

PeaceSign3 Another drill for Boot Camp with photo editing. While I may have gone a litle far I like the look, reminds me of my phone's camera apps. I've been using PSE for so long but never felt I REALLY knew what I was doing  - this was a quick 4 step process, I see a whole new world opening up in my editing!

BrighteningEyes Combined two drills for this photo editing, some basic editing and eye brightening. Having a little bit of issue with trying not to get brown eyes too Werewolf looking but think with some practice I will really enjoy playing with this new technique!

ZACombo And last but not least a drill on adding an Urban Look. This was a little bit challenging considering my sons skin tone, to try to not get to yellow, again I will need to tweek my skills but think it looks pretty funky.

Expecting the oldest to show up at any moment to raid my house for furniture for his new apartment - in the mean time, more creating.

Happy Saturday!

Boot Camp: Autumn Love

AutumnLove copy This was inspired by the Designing with Grids drill at Ella Publishing Boot Camp and lifted from this layout I pinned from Two Peas.

I LOVE Fall! Used some photos I took last year and raided the theme embellishment drawer. Fun way to get rid of all those odds and ends!

One more day left to join and post! I've only done 3 out of 12 so far, hoping to get at least another completed yet.

Do you have scrappy plans this weekend?

Family is going away so that's ALL I plan to do - well except the last Flea Market of the season on Sunday. Sigh. Going to be a long winter! ;)

Boot Camp: Guiding Principles

Cs copy Another lesson from Ella's Boot Camp with a journaling drill and quiz based on a past layout by Elizabeth Dillow. You can see more here.

At first it seemed very daunting but once I started writing it really did come together in less than 10 minutes. Still may take this one a bit further and do the "Words of Wisdom" layout as well.

Still a few days left to join and post!

Next up I'm working on the Grid prompt - hope you are having a creative day too!

I Love Flea Markets!

FleaMarketLO2 Created this layout from inspiration in Ella Publishing's Boot Camp "Embossing & Resisting" drill. I used 3 old Stampin' Up background stamps to emboss white cardstock, punched out, used Tim Holtz Distress Inks and embellished with some stickers from 7Gypsies "Collector" sheet. While I ended up covering up the bingo card more than I intended - it is from a Flea Market!

My layout was inspired by some Pinterest finds - this layout combined with a bit of this one. Got to love Pinterest!

Back to more Boot Camp drills. Thanks for stopping by!

Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): Days 7 - 9

LSNED072011 A few more completed pages for LSNED, starting with the 7th I found out playing classic games on the Wii "Family Game Night 3" - is a little more difficult than the old board style. At least for me!

The next day I was calling around trying to find out who had the latest issue of Flea Market Style magazine in, then ran and picked one up:

LSNED082011 Ahhh, so many good ideas!

And on the 9th we went on an Art Walk and found ourselves at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, yummy:LSNED092011 Need to get there again for some Caramel Apples - soon!

Back to working on my layout, seems to be going no where fast. Have a good day!

Learn Something New Every Day (LSNED): Days 4 - 6

LSNED042011 Still playing along with LSNED, keeping notes and taking photos though creating the cards is a whole 'nother thing! Although I am up to Day 10 - woot - I'd thought I'd share a few days at a time.

For the 4th, I hid the journaling behind the photo but wrote how I learned I TRULY am obsessed with Flea Markets when I got up at 4:30AM to get ready to go to one.

LSNED052011 On Monday, I got a little blue when I came across some old photos of Sierra & Savannah. Miss them both so much.

And the next day was about being crafty with some spray paint:LSNED062011Taking a bit of a break from this and working on Ella Publishing Boot Camp projects this week:Shot_1316914070002 Hope you had a good weekend! I had fun "treasure hunting" and will share some of the Flea Market finds soon.

4x6 Photo Love: State Fair

StateFairLO1 This week finally got to August's 4x6 Photo Love class, free over at Two Peas.  It's 8 photos and I love how Shimelle came up with a way to get them all on and the options of using both portrait and landscape.

Decided to focus on the way we end our day at State Fair, right after dinner we head to the Midway until it closes. We find it's cooler since very little shade and a bit easier to find a bench to rest on -after all the walking, this is a must! (Please excuse the lighting of layout - we are heading into Fall and cloudy today.)

And here is the inside: StateFairLO2I printed out tickets from this House of 3 kit for the journaling and embellishments as well as making some layered flowers from the scraps.

Now on to some catch up on LSNED & Ella's Boot Camp - are you in?

Have a good weekend! School Fall Carnival tonight and a Flea Market on Sunday here - last Flea at this location for the year. Withdrawals already beginning.
