Excited to begin Journal Your Chirstmas/December Daily again as well as a few other HOPES of craftiness like 12 Artsy Ornaments of Christmas, Holiday Memories, 12 Days of Christmas, revisiting Picture the Holidays and maybe a tag or two from 12 Tags of Christmas.
As well as some Pinterest ideas, BIG hopes, busy month - we will see. Just excited it's December!
Still putting today's pages together but do plan on using Shimelle's Manifesto again this year - just in a little different way but I thought it's too cute not to use so perfect the blog. Changed the color to match my Christmas theme - still on the Blue/White/Silver this year!

Skipped ahead to Christmas Day since like everyone else I'm sure - last week got crazy! Plan on going to the 31st so going to be doing some present day & working backwards.
For Christmas Day I chose just a few pics and will use gifts, food and a few other pictures for other day's prompts. It was a nice quiet day, lots of food, fire going, watching movies while the kids played with some of their gifts and I wanted to capture the ambiance so went with more silhouetted photos.

Day 11 and onto the Christmas Tree. I will journal about how this year I decided to go with a color theme of Blue, White & Silver with small touches of Red. So while we took out and looked at some special ornaments, they aren't all on the Tree this year. Love Snowmen & Snowflakes so focused on a few of those ornaments for photos.
On Sunday, we - along with most of the Midwest, had a Snow Storm roll through. Didn't get hit too bad, think only around 6 inches. Just enough to be pretty ...and not dreadful!
This year for Day 13's "Music" decided to show what is on the MP3 player - this might look funny to Grandchildren someday!
Added one of Ali's sayings from Holiday Word Art Vol 2 on photo in Day 12 & printed "Be Jolly" circle onto photo paper, along with Overlays & Templates. Also been adding these cute snowflakes, in felt & shimmer, from Creative Impressions - like on the bottom of Day 12.
Today the oldest daughter comes home from out of state - she couldn't make it last year and the little ones don't know yet so it will be fun to see their faces when they get off the school bus!

Caught up to Day 13 and hope to keep working through and closing the gap on days behind. Sharing a few pages today - starting with Day 7, the "To Do" list. I used a digital list from karenika. Sad to say not much has been crossed off this! YIKES!
Day 8 is about "Sights of the Season", I combined some pictures from around the house and out & about this year.

For Day 10 went back to daily since we celebrated a Birthday!
Back to making cards & trying to get them out in time! Those along with working on Daily pages has my creating space quite the mess! But it will have to wait til the New Year. I'll need to come out though for awhile and get the baking going. Been craving a good Frosted Sugar Cookie - think we'll start with those!

Our 4th was Hawks Inn & Breakfast with the Reindeer, waiting on journaling as not sure will keep this way yet, may add the Reindeer in with Traditions prompt. Used Ali's Templates & Overlays along with Holiday Title & Journal Overlays.
Day 5 is only half done as I plan on using the actual cover from their Advent box of chocolates that Grandma brings over, like her Dad brought me and just like his Mother gave my Mom her Advent calendar. Mine was always a shimmering Christmas scene with each little window reveling yet another one - the 24th being The Nativity. I will have to ask what her's looked like and maybe include that.
On the 6th the kids wake to find St. Nick has come.

Back to work on Day 7, the "To-Do List", hoping to catch up by the weekend now that, (fingers crossed) - the flu is done taking it's turn with us.

Still playing catch up - tho kids are back to school! For Day 3 I followed JYC Prompt on Cards. Since I've written on how I make handmade cards in past - decided to show the process this year. I used Ali's "Outline Holiday Word Art", "Holiday Word Art, Vol 2" and "6x8 Layered Templates" I altered a bit.
Then of course Ali's "6x8 Overlay" for date page with finished Card. Which honestly it's the only one done so far - so I know what my weekend will be filled with!
Going to see "The Nutcracker" tonight with my Mom and 9 who turns 10 today - Golden Birthday! And out for some dinner - a Girl's Night! I'm excited!

Been dealing with flu-ey kids here but managed to find some time to do a bit of catch up on JYC Prompt - "Weather" for Day 2. From Holiday Word Art Vol. 2 I printed "Capturing December" onto scrap paper and "December Heart" onto photo paper, attempted to create my own Ali-esque template for the background.
Oops, excuse the funky cropping! Day 2 Overlay from Ali, I did the Journaling in Word then placed over photo. It reads:
"Growing up in Wisconsin meant not IF there would be a Snow Day but WHEN. Waking up early and sitting in silence as we listened to the radio, hoping to hear our school called. And then cheering and jumping up with excitement when it was finally announced. This didn’t mean back to bed, it meant into snowsuits to build ramps & Luge style track down the hill in our backyard for sledding with other neighborhood kids. When we couldn’t take the cold anymore it was inside for Rummy Royal or Yahtzee and Hot Chocolate and Popcorn. That night there would be discussion if we thought tomorrow would also another SNOW DAY and I think we all went to bed with a wish those nights."

Back to trying to tending to kiddos, all home from school today and maybe onto Day 3!
Day 1 is almost complete. Had to scan these as too dark to use camera, much more glittery in real life. Used the digital download from JYC class. "December Joy" is on the top part of transparency with the matting on other side.
On the reverse of matting is journaling I wrote on a card in this freebie mini kit from Two Peas.
Ran out of ink so haven't been able to print my photo yet - but this page will be a combo of the scanned & digi image.
On to Day 2 - "The Weather". We are expecting some snow - so hoping to get some nice shots! Love a White Christmas...but after that I'm kinda over it.

Digital Elements used were: Days 17 & 19 are freebies Holiday Present Labels & Holiday Tickets from karenika, Day 25 Holiday Title Overlays, Day 29 31 Days Circle Numbers, Day 31 Merry Merry Christmas Gift Tags from Ali Edwards. For Day 27 I re-sized a digi paper from Shimelle's JYC last year and stuck in a Making Memories tag.
Painted the "number" sheets and then added Stickles to make date pop a bit, as well as playing around with Glimmer Mists & Glitter on the Snowflakes & Dove from Basic Grey's Holiday Chipboard.
Decided to hold off printing out the Overlays & Templates and will work on those each day. Thinking I will print out Templates twice, once "empty" on white cardstock, then onto photo paper with pictures, cut out and then adhered to cardstock. I like my albums a bit "lumpy".
