This Heart took a bit more time - but totally worth it I think! My Mom came over a few weeks ago & we set out cutting circles, lots & lots of 3 inch circles. We were each making red ones & little Ms. M was making white for her bedroom. We weren't sure how many we would need and started with a 1/2 yard each of 72 inch wide felt but soon found we needed 1 yard per wreath. Our styrofoam heart was 12 inches and it took about 260 circles to cover. I think it's a little easier to cut some circles & pin some in as it doesn't take long for the thumb to start getting a little sore!
You can find the instructions for this here.
Are you feeling the love yet? ;)
Downloaded this Halloween Banner from Jessica Sprague Friday Project Kit $1 sale. Printed the digital images onto Matte paper & Best Photo option, then added some mini star bling I found at Michaels for $1, glitter, Stickles & ribbons, attached to black cardstock then edged in glitter. I punched a hole at the center of each top and tied the black ribbon to each, then added a jump ring to string the orange ribbon through and connect the letters together.
I love Halloween & all the decorations. I envy the yards all done up with tombstones, webbed trees & glowing lights and dream of doing the same. Next year I always seem to say - need to change that!
How about you - do you do it up big for the kids (or yourself)? ;)
Came across this plain notebook I bought at Target awhile back & decided it would be perfect for measurements, ideas & swatches for home decorating projects. So grabbed some scraps, cut a house out of chipboard and covered a heart I had with some Stickles. "R" is for our last name.
What was your favorite new school supply?
Can't believe it's August and school supply lists are beginning to get filled as Back to School gets closer & closer - but there are still things I want to enjoy before the leaves start to change so thought I'd share my list:
What's left on your Summer to-do list?
PS My photo is actually for a Picture Spring prompt "Everyday Beauty" in our household chores, I thought of washing windows so I took a picture holding the camera up to the glass on my front door as the sun was setting.
Been feeling a need for some new colors around the house so been spending time at these sites. So many yummy colors, ALMOST wish I an endless amount of rooms to paint! Almost.
And of course other paint companies have inspirational sites too:
Can't wait to narrow it down and see some fresh colors on the walls! In the meantime I've been doing a lot of prepping (and then some) and 9's room is almost ready for some ceiling paint, closet has been painted a nice shade of "Swimming Pool" and maybe by Spring we'll have a COMPLETED room!
What's your decorating style, bold colors on the walls or the fresh, clean look of neutrals?
I'm not sure if it's cabin fever or just that we have lived in our house for 10 years but I'm suddenly in a mood to change every room and all at once.
Been using this site to get color inspiration. Love being able to type in words and seeing people's interpretations of that word in colors. I'm using the word "cupcake" for ideas for the kitchen and have purchased some prints, like this one & this one.
Anyway, still plugging away at painting but hopefully soon will be the fun part - decorating! Stayed tuned for pics!
Thanks for stopping by!
