HT&E - Digi Work In Process

Started this last night, using a layered template from last week's class prompt. Still not sure why some things aren't quite perfect, but only got a bit frustrated. Thank goodness for google and I was able to work my way out of being stuck but still need to figure out to fix a few things! Not that Shimelle's prompts aren't good, think I'm just working with an older versions of PhotoShop Elements.

Anyway, it wasn't so bad and thinking I might search for more templates. Just not sure if I will print out and add embellies or keep it completely digital. I think that decision will be made after seeing what I can find for digi embellishments!

This week we are back to working with paper & glue so hoping to stay caught up!

Too Late For Love?

Made these cookies for Valentine's Day, I figure at least posting before St. Patrick's Day, it's OK, lol. Used this recipe for the cookies & finally found a good icing that dries hard & shiny, but it dries quickly so add sprinkles as you go!

Also came across this Making Memories chipboard word one day and decided to alter it for the holiday:

Used Heidi Grace papers, Heidi Swapp ghost heart I covered with Stickles, Making Memories "LOVE" chipboard and "True" tag. Not too shabby for using the stash!

Still working on my HTE album. Finished my "Here" except for a few pics I need to take on my next errand run, so waiting to post. Meanwhile, we've started "There". This last week was gathering and today I worked on my notes, got to love Shimelle's worksheets, they really get the memory going!

Here, There & Everywhere

Started yet another online class. These are my divider pages. This time Shimelle is holding class over at Two Peas. A little different format online then what I'm used to but 2P'ers would feel right at home. The first week was spent writing notes for "Here" and gathering pictures and playing with them and some cool digi elements by Tia Bennett that are part of the class downloads.

For this photo taken at The Dells, I gave it an old film look, then put it in one of the cool digi frames:

For this picture, taken in town, I added a frame by altering the photo:

So a bit different for me, learning some cool digi techniques and printing out digi paper and elements. Still time to sign up here!

Twilight Challenge 1: The Cover

Well waiting for daylight didn't really help the light available situation. Got to love the dreary winter days in Wisconsin - or so I keep telling myself!

Anyway, here's my take on the first challenge at Apple In Hand. I loved working with red, white & black and I think this is the first layout I have done strictly on Joe & I! Should I mention the little one had to ask who the people were in the picture? lol

Can't wait for the next challenge! Hope you Twilight fans decide to play along! :)

Book of Days

Made this book last year & finally filling it in. Just bits of words, pics & little embellies to capture each day - fun! I have to go and fill in the days of the week but thinking of just leaving numbers off completely.

Also been finishing a few layouts for CZ's DYL class & one for this cool, scrapbooking meets Twilight challenge over at Apple In Hand. Got to love that name! :) Thanks Maya for the link! But since it's dark out pics just aren't doing the bling justice. lol, so I will take pics & post tomorrow!

Cupcake Love

Since I've decided to decorate my kitchen with a cupcake theme I decided some art work was needed ASAP! So I made another canvas using this awesome cupcake picture, photographed & baked by the uber talented sarah288 on Flickr! Thanks Sarah for the use of this beautiful photo!

And who could look at this yummy cupcake without getting the urge to bake?

Since I was planning on going to a crop I made mini coconut cupcakes with "funfetti" mix as a base. Granted they aren't as pretty as the above cupcake but still yummy!
 

 

Never Too Late!

Taking a little break from DYL pages & went back to a 2006 BPS online class by Donna Downey & created this canvas. Not sure if it will end up in my bedroom or scrap room but it was fun!

The background is made by brushing gel medium on to the canvas, covering w/ bits of torn up book (you want writing on both sides), letting it sit a few minutes and then using masking tape to rip it off. After it's all dried, I used some watered down acrylic paint, added a picture taken from the flowers I grow on the deck & a cool quote. I'm making another and wishing I had a had a bunch more canvases on hand!

Dreams Of Paris

This started out as a small, 5x7 canvas, I was painting using masks. That didn't work out as the mask apparently wasn't very sticky, so I covered it with some pattern paper thinking I'd make something for Montana. Then thought of the Paris embellies I had and the idea of this finished project began. I knew I wanted to make a paper doll and after some googling and not quite finding the right look, I decided to check out the gallery at TwoPeas and made my doll following this cool inspiration.

Off to check on supper, it's a cold, cold Saturday so for sure some warm comfort food is on the menu!

Reading Room

This is the beginning of the books I hope to read this year. A new list is up on the message board at BPS Reading Room, a FREE online book club, this year is hosted by Paula. Some of them are ongoing books, like Listography & Wreck This Journal. (I actually have been wrecking it...inside!) Some are in progress like Twilight and Julie & Julia. Of course I want to read the next three books in the Twilight series and the rest are the ones I chose off 2009 Reading Room list: Confessions of a Shopaholic for January, Water For Elephants for February, The Time Traveler's Wife for July and Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips for October.

Also, Shimelle is offering a FREE class on her blog, never behind online! I'm still filling out my worksheet on things I love right now. Oh and the pen I'm using rocks, it's so smooth, I HAVE to have it to journal!

DYL - Weeks 3 & 8, RWC Week 8

A few more finished! Sorry for the not so good cropping and not so in focus pics, something is going on with my camera's auto-focus, as in it's not and I think I need to put my glasses on! And I'm having issues with pictures curling, maybe heat vent above printer, lol, will have to start moving them to dry. Want to add some bling somehow to the Las Vegas layout and it took nerves of steel to use a white paint pen to add the frame on the last layout but I like the look and want to use that again! But think next time I will attempt that BEFORE having things pasted down! lol

Other than that, celebrated Aidan's 5th and Joe's 31st Birthday's this weekend and working out on the Wii Fit, hoping to get to my goal of my losing 5 lbs this month. Thinking 1 1/4 lb a week to start is at least something! So far so good!
